Our client, a large and exciting FMCG comapny is seeking a FITTER FOR AFTERNOONS for its maintenance crew in the northern suburbs.
This is a full-time/permanent role with the client direct.
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of production by maintaining, repairing, and installing plant equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of plant equipment using the following techniques:
- o Metal arc welding
- o Gas metal arc welding
- o Fitting and turning
- Promptly diagnose, trouble shoot and repair equipment when advised of a breakdown.
- Proactively monitor equipment and carry out plant inspections looking for signs of potential problems.
- Assist with breakdowns
- Suggesting and implementing improves to systems to enhance efficiency, reliability and safety.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION YOU MUST HAVE:
- Trade Certificate (Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade) or 2+ years’ experience within the FMCG industry,
- Experience in a similar role;
- An understanding of HACCP requirements;
- Welding experience
- Experience within a Food processing/industrial/manufacturing environment.
